John and Catherine were married Oct. 5, 1885 in Cheboygan, Michigan,but lived in St. Ignace, Michigan where John had a job. Twoof their children: John (b. 1886) and Martha (b. 1887) wereborn in St. Ignace. They moved to Munising, Michigan wheresix of their children: Bruno, Edmund, Tekla, Sophia, Margaretand Agnes were born. Clara and Thomas were born in Cheboygan

They moved to Riggsville, Michigan to a farm that was ownedby Michael Robydek. Michael moved off the farm and went toCalifornia. John and Catherine Krol raised vegetables, chickensand pigs.
The children had to walk two miles to the one room school house(grades 1-8), located on Polish Line Road.

John was a farmer, millright, worked in a tannery and a sawmill.

John left an insurance policy worth $1,000.

John came to the United States because he couldn't get alongwith his stepmother.

In 1914, John and Catherine had $700.00 in the Cheboygan CountySavings Bank.

John was in poor health for the last 4 to 5 years of his life.A week before his death he caused a rupture by heavy lifting,from which he never recovered.

He was a man who was well liked by his neighbors.

I, Kate Krol, respectfully represent that I reside in the Townshipof Inverness in said county and am interested in said estateand make this petition as wife of said deceased.

I further represent that said deceased died on the 20th dayof August A.D. 1913 leaving no last will and testament, as Iam informed and believe.

I further represent that said deceased was, at the time of hisdeath, an inhabitant of the Township of Inverness in said countyand left estate within said county to be administered and thatthe estimated value thereof is as follows: real estate, $700.00or thereabout; personal estate, $100.00 or thereabout, as Iam informed and believe.
